Team ‘Angkor’ consisting of Cheng Hang, Kem Samrach, Meach David and Chhin Chan Sangha (from Phnom Penh), with a combined gross score of 227 saw then take a 36 shot lead into day two from Team ‘Indo 2’. A solid 12 shot lead per person.

The Nett division would prove to see a closer competition with Team ‘Phnom Penh’ (Hay Ngoun, Ham Vantha, Pay Sam, Taing Sothearith) taking a single one-shot lead over Team ‘Heineken’ (Hew Foong Yoon, Chris Kaing, Hok Seng Aing, Hong Yuthika), with nett score of 221 and 222 respectively.

Day 2 provided some tougher scoring condition with a welcome morning breeze to test the players but Team ‘Angkor’ would do enough, scoring 237 to add to their day one score of 227 (combined 464) to secure victory in the inaugural Angkor International Team Championship.

“It was great to see this event come to fruition, adding to our Annual April Pairs Championship and individual Angkor Amateur Open in August. The four-player team aspect adds something new and offers a fantastic golfing weekend for groups from around the region”. We would like to thank all our sponsors and partners without whom these events would not be possible, and of course to all the participants who made the effort to visit Siem Reap and experience Angkor Golf Resort”. Alan Martin Head PGA Professional.
